Teak: The Gold Standard
Grade-A teak remains the king of outdoor furniture materials. Its natural oils make it resistant to rot, insects, and weathering. Over time, untreated teak develops a beautiful silver-grey patina — or you can maintain its golden honey tone with periodic oiling.
Best for: Coastal environments, poolside, tropical climates. Teak handles humidity, salt air, and UV exposure with minimal degradation.
Synthetic Rattan (PE Wicker)
Modern PE rattan has come a long way. UV-stabilized synthetic fibres woven over powder-coated aluminum frames create pieces that look luxurious but require almost zero maintenance.
Best for: Hotels and resorts where low maintenance is a priority, and for those who love the woven aesthetic.
Powder-Coated Aluminum
Lightweight, rust-proof, and available in any colour, aluminum is the workhorse of commercial outdoor furniture. Look for electrostatic powder coating for maximum finish durability.
Pro tip: When specifying aluminum furniture for commercial projects, always request electrostatic powder coating — it provides 3–5× the durability of standard spray finishes.
Solid Hardwood (Acacia, Eucalyptus)
More affordable than teak, plantation-grown hardwoods like acacia and eucalyptus offer warm aesthetics and decent durability. They do require more regular sealing and maintenance.

Our Recommendation
For premium hospitality and resort projects, we almost always recommend Grade-A teak or high-quality PE rattan. The upfront investment pays dividends in longevity and guest satisfaction. For commercial high-traffic venues, powder-coated aluminum is unbeatable.
